Grand Celebrations of Rythu Panduga

The state government is taking significant steps to ensure agricultural welfare, said Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas during the grand celebrations of Rythu Panduga. The event, part of the statewide farmer festivities, was attended virtually by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who addressed the farmers via video conference from Mahabubnagar. Government Whip Adi Srinivas and Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha participated from the Rythu Vedika in Hanumajipeta, Vemulawada.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the Congress government to uplift agriculture, including the historic waiver of farmers’ loans totaling ₹21,000 crore.

Addressing the gathering, Adi Srinivas stated that the Congress government has transformed agriculture into a celebration by establishing procurement centers to ensure farmers receive minimum support prices (MSP) for their produce. He assured that payments for procured produce would be credited to farmers’ accounts within two days. Additionally, farmers cultivating fine rice varieties would receive an extra ₹500 per quintal as an incentive.

The MLA also noted that the government, in collaboration with CCI, has set up five cotton procurement centers across districts, providing MSP to cotton farmers. He added that farmers affected by crop losses due to recent rains have already received compensation.

The event witnessed the participation of Vemulawada RDO Rajeswar, District Agriculture Officer Afzal Begum, other officials, farmers, and leaders of farmers’ associations.
