Former Rajya Sabha member V. Hanumantha Rao has written to the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court, Alok Aradhye, demanding immediate justice in the gruesome Hajipur rape cases. He has highlighted the delay in implementing the court’s decision against Srinivas Reddy, the accused, who brutally raped and murdered three minor girls between 2015 and 2019.

According to Rao’s letter, the accused raped and killed Baby Kalpana in 2015, Baby Maneesha in 2019, and Baby Sravani on April 25, 2019. All three victims were under 12 years of age and came from economically disadvantaged families. Following these heinous acts, Reddy dumped the bodies in a well, which were discovered only after the third murder, bringing his crimes to light.

Rao mentioned that he had personally visited Hajipur village several times to console the victims’ families and had extended financial assistance. He criticized the authorities for the delay in executing the judgments of life imprisonment and death penalties pronounced by the lower courts. Despite four years passing, justice remains pending, causing anguish among the victims’ families and the local community.

The letter emphasized the urgent need to punish Reddy, expressing concerns that further delays could embolden others to commit similar crimes. Rao noted that even after several appeals and the resolution of the case by Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bhagavath, justice remains elusive.

Rao concluded by requesting the Chief Justice to expedite the case and ensure the immediate implementation of the punishments to provide justice to the grieving families and restore faith in the judicial system. He emphasized that swift action would serve as a deterrent to similar heinous acts in the future.
