Congress Government Failed to Deliver Promises in Its First Year: Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar

DECCAN FREEDOM NEWS,

December 7, Adilabad

Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar criticized the Congress government for failing to fulfill its promises even after completing a year in power. Speaking at a public event, he alleged that the government has ignored development and resorted to excuses under the guise of forming committees instead of delivering on its commitments.

He accused the Congress government of turning the state into a debt-ridden entity by borrowing an additional ₹7 lakh crore, similar to the debt incurred by the previous government. “The government promised bonuses for all crops but has provided it only for paddy, neglecting other crops,” he said.

The MLA further criticized the government for its unfulfilled promise of waiving loans up to ₹2 lakh. “Farmers who borrowed more than ₹2 lakh have been completely overlooked,” he added. He pointed out that the crop insurance scheme, which the previous government failed to implement, has also not been launched by the current government despite assurances of paying the insurance premiums.

He also took a jab at the Congress government for its delay in fulfilling the promise of increasing Rythu Bandhu payments under Rythu Bharosa to ₹15,000 per acre. “A year has passed, and they are still misleading the public with committees,” he stated.

The MLA questioned the government’s failure to provide the promised ₹2,500 monthly assistance to every woman. “When asked about the delay, they simply say a sub-committee has been formed,” he remarked. He also alleged that the Indiramma Housing scheme is limited to paperwork and accused the government of repackaging central government housing schemes as their own.

The event was attended by district leaders including Brahmanand, Venugopal, Akula Praveen, Jogu Ravi, Mayur, Chandra Vijay, Jyothi Raghu, Dinesh Mataliya, Ganga Reddy, Nagesh, Ashok Reddy, Srinivas, Krishna Yadav, and Rakesh, among others.
