Karimnagar, December 23;Collector Pamela Satpathy has urged parents to send their children to Anganwadi centers to ensure a strong foundation for their growth and development. She highlighted that Anganwadis offer nutritious food along with learning through play and songs, which contributes significantly to the overall development of young children.

On Monday, the Collector participated in a program at the Anganwadi center located on the premises of the Zilla Parishad High School in Cherlabuthkur village, Karimnagar Rural Mandal. During the event, donors Butti Sharada and Vikram, siblings, handed over toys and play equipment to the center.

The Collector appreciated their generous contribution of play equipment worth ₹3 lakh for Anganwadi centers across the district. She appealed to other donors to come forward to strengthen government schools and Anganwadi centers, emphasizing that these facilities are being equipped with all necessary amenities to rival private institutions.

“Good habits learned in childhood pave the way for a bright future,” she said, highlighting the importance of play-based learning in building children’s confidence and knowledge. She instructed Anganwadi staff to regularly monitor children’s growth and maintain monthly records to ensure their weight and height match age-appropriate standards.

Collector Satpathy also inspected the food provided to children and directed the staff to prioritize hygiene and nutrition. Responding to requests from locals for a kitchen building, officials assured that funds had been sanctioned and the tender process would soon be completed.

Later, the Collector planted saplings on the school premises and interacted with mothers of the children. The mothers shared that their children had developed better discipline, reduced their screen time, and actively participated in the center’s activities.

The event saw participation from District Welfare Officer Sabitha, District Science Officer Jaipal Reddy, Panchayat Officer Sanjeev Rao, Urban MEO Pramod, ICDS Supervisor Nirmala, Single Window Chairman Shyam Sundar, donors Butti Sharada and Vikram, Rural MEO Ravinder, and several community leaders. Students welcomed the Collector with enthusiasm and gratitude, marking a successful event aimed at promoting child welfare.
