The BJP government is suppressing voices of dissent and pushing the country towards autocratic governance, alleged State Youth Congress Vice President Aksha Reddy. Speaking during a protest organized by the Youth Congress in Gajwel town, Siddipet district, she accused the BJP of orchestrating a crackdown on those who challenge its policies.
The protest, which included a massive rally culminating at Ambedkar Junction, saw participants burn an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing the gathering, Aksha Reddy and District President Rajasekhar Reddy criticized the government’s favoritism towards corporates like Adani and Ambani, accusing it of selling off the nation’s wealth to private entities.
They condemned the BJP’s alleged misuse of power to target Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with baseless cases, asserting that such actions reflect the BJP’s fear of accountability. “Rahul Gandhi has been a true patriot serving the nation like a commander, and we will not tolerate these unjust actions against him,” said Aksha Reddy. She warned that any further misuse of power against Congress leaders would be met with strong resistance.
Several leaders, including AMC Vice Chairman Sardar Khan, District Minority Vice Chairman Zakir, Youth Assembly President Azhar, and Co-option Member Gangishetti Raju, participated in the event. Others present included General Secretary Nakka Ramulu Goud, Directors Karunakar Reddy and Sukhender Reddy, as well as Srinivas Reddy, Jangam Ramesh Goud, and several Youth Congress activists from nearby villages.
