The Department of Women Development and Child Welfare organized an awareness meeting at Singapur Primary School, Huzurabad Mandal, on Friday. District Collector Pamela Satpathy highlighted strict action against illegal gender determination tests and emphasized adherence to regulations.
She urged mothers to send children to Anganwadi centers for pre-primary education and prioritize health during the first 1,000 days of pregnancy for proper child development. Officials were instructed to monitor malnourished children and counsel parents. Beneficiaries were advised to consume Anganwadi food onsite and avoid processed sugary foods.
Under the Arogya Mahila initiative, women were encouraged to utilize free health tests and detect diseases like cancer early. Nutritional displays, health camps, and traditional ceremonies like Seemantham and Annaprasana were also conducted.
The Collector, along with RDO Ramesh Babu, DMHO Venkataramana, and other officials, planted saplings and ensured the event’s success.
