Afforestation Essential for Ecological Balance: Collector Ashish Sangwan

As part of the Public Governance Day celebrations, a “Vanadarshini” program was conducted in Machareddy Reserve Forest, Chukkapur, with students from Machareddy High School on the occasion of World Wildlife Day. District Collector Ashish Sangwan addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of forests in maintaining ecological balance. He encouraged students to learn about forest conservation from an early age and share their knowledge with peers. He highlighted the critical role of afforestation in preserving the environment and sustaining life.
Students actively participated in a Q&A session, answering questions about the importance of forests, plants, and wildlife. The Collector stressed the need to educate young minds about forest wealth and its significance for future generations.
District Forest Officer Bhoga Nikhita highlighted the essential role of plants and wildlife in maintaining a healthy food chain and shared the measures being taken to protect forest resources from fire. She mentioned that the government is committed to raising awareness and implementing steps to ensure the preservation of forest wealth.
Forest Development Officer Ramakrishna urged students to be mindful of the environment, drawing attention to the traditional practices of planting trees to create a sustainable future. Range Officer Divya added that the “Vanadarshini” program, part of the Prajapalana Praja Victory Festival, includes plantation and wildlife conservation initiatives to inspire young students.
The program concluded with District Collector Ashish Sangwan distributing prizes and certificates to the winners of essay and painting competitions. District Panchayat Officer Srinivas Rao, Tehsildar Shweta, MPDO Gopi Babu, teachers, and students from Machareddy Mandal were also present at the event.
