Hyderabad, December 29: Mumbai’s 16-year-old Kamya Karthikeyan has set a world record in mountaineering. She became the youngest climber to scale the tallest peaks across all seven continents, making history in the process.

Kamya successfully took on the challenge of summiting the Seven Summits, which include Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mount Elbrus (Europe), Mount Kosciuszko (Australia), Mount Aconcagua (South America), Mount Denali (North America), Mount Everest (Asia), and Mount Vinson (Antarctica). Accompanied by her father, Commander Karthikeyan, she completed her climb of Mount Vinson on December 24, thereby achieving the monumental feat.

A 12th-grade student at Mumbai’s Navy Children School, Kamya has earned admiration from the Indian Navy for her accomplishment. Looking ahead, Kamya has set her sights on her next challenge—reaching the North and South Poles.
